Building a safe, trusted community for breast milk sharing

Our Commitment to Safety

At Milk Supply Co, safety isn't just a feature—it's our foundation. We've built multiple layers of protection to ensure every transaction is as safe as possible while empowering you to make informed decisions for your family.

Our Safety Features

Verified Sellers

Sellers can earn a verified badge by completing ID verification through Stripe Identity, confirming their real identity so buyers can transact with confidence.

We also encourage buyers to ask sellers about their health history directly via in-app chat before purchasing.

Ratings & Reviews

Every transaction can be rated and reviewed. See seller histories, read buyer experiences, and make informed decisions based on community feedback.

Secure Messaging

All communication happens through our platform. Ask sellers about diet, medications, health, and storage practices before purchasing. Personal contact info is only shared after transaction confirmation.

Payment Protection

Your payment is processed securely through our payment provider. Seller payouts are initiated automatically after delivery confirmation, protecting both buyers and sellers.

Dispute Resolution

If something goes wrong, our support team mediates disputes fairly. We review evidence, protect buyer rights, and ensure sellers are treated fairly.

Community Reporting

Report suspicious behavior, unsafe practices, or violations. We investigate all reports within 24 hours and take action to protect our community.

Questions to Ask Sellers

Before purchasing, have a conversation with the seller. Here are important questions to ask:

Health Questions for Sellers

We encourage buyers to ask these questions directly via in-app messaging before purchasing.

  • Do you have any health conditions or infections?
  • Are you taking any medications, herbs, or supplements?
  • Do you smoke, drink alcohol, or use recreational drugs?
  • Have you or your baby been sick recently?

Diet & Lifestyle

  • What is your typical diet? (Organic, vegan, dairy-free, etc.)
  • Do you consume caffeine? How much?
  • Are you aware of any food allergies in your family?
  • Have you received any vaccines recently? (COVID, flu, etc.)

Storage & Handling

  • How do you collect and store your milk?
  • What type of storage bags/containers do you use?
  • How long has this milk been frozen?
  • What temperature is your freezer?
  • Have you ever had a freezer malfunction or power outage?

Red Flags to Watch For

Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, it probably is. Here are warning signs to avoid:

  • Seller refuses to answer health or storage questions
  • Seller refuses to discuss health status or answer health questions
  • Asks for payment outside the platform (avoid payment protection)
  • Poor reviews or ratings from previous buyers
  • Milk looks discolored, has unusual smell, or poor packaging
  • Prices significantly below market rate (too good to be true)
  • Seller is evasive, aggressive, or pushy

Best Practices for Buyers

Do This:

  • Choose verified sellers when possible
  • Read all reviews and check ratings
  • Ask detailed health and diet questions
  • Inspect milk upon delivery
  • Consider home pasteurization for added safety
  • Use platform messaging for all communication
  • Start with a small order to test quality

Don't Do This:

  • Skip asking sellers about their health and wellness
  • Pay outside the platform
  • Accept milk that looks or smells off
  • Ignore your gut feelings about a seller
  • Use milk that's been mishandled or thawed
  • Share personal info before transaction is confirmed
  • Rush into large purchases without vetting seller
